It's time to start knitting for charity again. It's been way too long. I have been trying to get back into knitting and crocheting which has been quite a challenge. My baby Eliyahue Moshe is now 8.5 months old and still does not sleep through the night. I am hoping some time soon. I am going to be knitting for the group AC4C. I will be knitting 1 or 2 of Michelle's Peemie-Newborn Baby Booties. I love this pattern It goes soooo fast it's great. I will post a picture of it when I'm done.

I am trying to get some more knitting in. I need to take it easy so that's the way I do it. I am in midde of working on a baby blanket for myself. It's a great pattern.

I am more than halfway through. The only problem is carrying it with me, my bag is not big enough. Well wish me luck. I want to try and get some more blogging into my day, but, we'll see what happens.

Hopefully A Fresh Start

Well I hope to start fresh with my blog. I have been SOOOO busy lately I have NO time for fun, but hopefully I will try and post at least once a week. Lets see.

I am now in the middle of a scarf for Menachem Mendel, my youngest, now that the season is almost over. I just finished a sweater set for AC4C monthly project for Januay. Now I have to start February.....I hope to get it done before the end of the month (with me luck)!!

Well I hope to post again soon!

Well i finished another baby present. I have had so little time to knit with all my kids home for a few days and one of my kids being sick. I guess that's what I have to look forward to till they are out of the house in like TWENTY years!!! OY VEY!!

I have about 5 more presents to catch up on and a few more babies due to come soon. I am going nuts all of my friends are pregnant. Better them than me. Anyway, goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite. Off to wake up my Liba (5) to use the bathroom so she doesn't wet her bed.

Well i dyed the next batch of yarn and this one was pink. I LOVE THIS. Anoter addiction that I do not need. I am thinking of cheating and stopping the sweater I am in the middle of and starting one in the yarn that I just did. I have to order some more bare yarn. This is too much fun.

I finished winding up the blue yarn into balls and I am thinking of cheating and stopping the sweater I am working on and start a sweater with this yarn. I am so happy with the results. It looks varigated. Next I want to try and hand paint with kool-aid. We'll see.

We anyway I have another bit of GREAT news. My husband has quit smoking. I can't believe it. He has been trying to keep it a secret from me so that he can surprise me for our anniversary. But someone he told spilled the beans. He tried this new low laser treatment that takes the physical addiction away. I am sooooo happy.

Well good night for now.

YAY!!! I did it. And I love how the yarn came out. Now we have to see how it knits up. I will try and wind up the balls tommorow and knit up the sweaters the next day. Bur so far so good. I ran out of vinegar so I can't even dye the pink. I will do it tommorow. YAY again. I am so happy. Next step is to handpaint my yarn.

Good night for now,

Finally Taking the DYING Plunge

Well I finally decided to take the plunge!!! I am going to try and dye my own (I should say bought) yarn. I decided to try to sell baby sets and i figured that if I dye the yarn on my own it might make the outfit sound more appealing. I hope so.

So I decided to use Knit Picks bare peruvian wool. I also decided to do one boy's color and one girls color so of course I bought one pink and one blue bottle of dye.

Wish me luck. I hope it comes out OK.

This is Shayna (12) wearing the hat and scarf set I made her.

This is Shimon (4) and Yoni (11)

The Pictures I Promised

This is Yoni wearing the sweater that I knitted for him.

Well it's 5:30pm here in New York and my little monster Menachem Mendel is on my lap and driving me crazy. I will most definitely have to wait till he goes to bed to work on my latest knitting project. A gift for my new neice Elisheva. Menachem Mendel is my youngest. His 2nd birthday is today. I can't believe how fast time flies!!

I bet my mother is looking at this blog and saying YAY a picture finally. I am so bad at sending her pictures so she will be thrilled to know that later on tonight I will be posting more pictures of the kids wearing some stuff that I made them. They were very excited to be included in my Blog.

Anyway that's all for now. I have to bathe the kids and get them to bed so I can get some laundry folded and some knitting done. On second thought, screw the folding the laundry the kids can look through the bags of clean clothes they should be happy that the clothes even got cleaned it takes too much time away from my knitting ;-)

Thanks to all who actually pay attention to little old me.

I have been knitting for 15 years and have just made my first gauge swatch. And guess what. IT'S OFF!! Now I have to do it all over again with a smaller needle and see what happens. I knew this would happen. That's why I hate gauge. Well I am off to do a useless peice of knitting.

Monday, November 20, 2006

Well I just finished this month's project for AC4C. I wish I could do more but everyone in the group always talks about the Power of ONE. I do what I can do and I guess that will have to be enough.

Tommorow I have to start the sweater for my sister-in-laws new baby. It is from a Sirdar book "Toddler Aran Knits" it's a great book. Has alot of great patterns made in worsted weight yarn. I m going to try Red Heart Soft yarn for the first time. I hope it's better than Caron Simply Soft. We'll see.

Anyway Goodnight to whoever reads this post. Please let me know what you think of my finished product.

It's 1:30 am and I MUST get to bed!!!

It's 1:30am and I jst finished sewing together a baby cardigan for this month's AC4C charity project project. I can't beleive it's finished. Thank g-d. I have to get buttons for it tommorow and then make the hat. Then back to the gift knitting. There is just to much to knit and too little time to do it in. Who knows what I mean???

Good night to All. I hope to get some sleep before my kids wake up at 6:30 in the morning. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll sleep in (yeah right).

I made a crazy 10 ft. scarf for my husband a few years ago. When a friend of our saw it he went nut and begged me to make it for him. It took me a few years but it is finished!!! It is modeled here by his daughter.
This is the hat that i made for her. I used a pattern from P2 Designs that I have made for charity a few times. I think it is the most horrible color i've seen, but, atleast she will not be hit by a car you can spot her a mile away!!!!

And another one done!!!

I love this pattern!!! It looks great and goes so FAST. It is a pattern for a baby cardigan using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Denim Blue Print) and it is basically knit in one peice. There is very little sewing. Just the underarm. I knit the sleeves in the round so that I don't have to sew the sleeves together. I HATE finishing my knitting.

Well now on to my next project. I have to finish a scarf I started for a friend like 2 years ago and a hat for his daughter. I have this BRIGHT orange yarn that my mother gave me and she fell in love with it. Why I will never understand!

Until next time,

Baby Present Finally Finished

I finally finished this sweater. It is a baby present for my boss's daughther who just had her first baby.

I originally made her a beautifull baby blanket and guess what!!! I washed it and whe it came out of the washer it was full of holes. Not even at the end so that I could redo the last few rows. It was in the begining. I guess that's life. It's the first time something like that has ever happened to me.

Well now I have to start on the next baby present. I really wanted to make blankets for everyone, but if i do that I will never be done. All of my friends are having babies. Better them than me!!! 5 is enough for me!!!

I finally decided to start my own blog. I hope it goes well.
